The answer to the question of “What’s wrong with other websites” is a simple one – there are too many of them.

The obvious answer to that problem is starting another website! We decided to start SmarterPocket because there are too many sources to go to to stay informed about interesting events in the smartphone industry. If you are an S60 aficionado, there are at least 10 sites that you could go read to keep up with what’s going on in the S60 market. If you want to know how operators compete in the US, there are many more sites you could read about that.

Additionally, a lot of websites post ‘content’ that consists of a press release, a URL, and a sentence. SmarterPocket aims to provide you with enough original analysis, thought, and material that you don’t need to waste your time reading anywhere else. Our initial series of posts on the state of the US cellular market is coming first, then a series of posts from a new S60 user discussing their opinions of the platform.

We aim to be the only site you need to keep subscribed to in order to always be up-to-date on interesting, exciting things in the Smartphone universe. We aren’t going to waste your time with trite procedural reviews or other pointless content, just things that are timely, relevant, and well-written.
